Black Sabbath - Iron Man
"Iron Man" is a song by British heavy metal band Black Sabbath.
It is taken from their second studio album, Paranoid, released in 1970. It was later included on their initial greatest hits compilation We Sold Our Soul for Rock 'n' Roll (1976), as well as all subsequent greatest hits compilations.
The song was originally entitled "Iron Bloke", a title conceived by vocalist Ozzy Osbourne.
Upon hearing the main guitar riff for the first time, Osbourne remarked that it sounded "like a big iron bloke walking about" (bloke being used in British English similar to how guy or dude are used in America).
The title was later changed to "Iron Man", with Geezer Butler writing the lyrics around the title.
Despite the song's title, it bears no connection to the Marvel Comics superhero character Iron Man, which was created and first appeared in Tales of Suspense #39, March 1963, seven years prior to the song's publication. The song has since become associated with the character by fans of both; the popular 2008 film Iron Man, based on the comic books, features an instrumental rendition of "Iron Man" during the credits.
In the 2012 film The Avengers, set in the same continuity as the Iron Man films, Tony Stark is seen wearing a Black Sabbath shirt when not in the Iron Man armor, as a tribute to the band and song.
Butler wrote the lyrics as the story of a man who time travels into the future, and sees the apocalypse. In the process of returning to the present, he is turned into steel by a magnetic field. He is rendered mute, unable verbally to warn people of his time of the impending destruction. His attempts to communicate are ignored and mocked. This causes Iron Man to become angry, and have his revenge on mankind, causing the destruction seen in his vision.
The lyrics:
Has he lost his mind?
Can he see or is he blind?

Is he alive or dead?
Has he thoughts within his head?

He was turned to steel.
In the great magnetic field.
When he traveled time,
For the future of mankind

He was turned to steel.
In the great magnetic field.
When he traveled time,
For the future of mankind

Nobody wants him,
He just stares at the world.
Planning his vengeance,
That he will soon unfold.

Now the time is here
For iron man to spread fear
Vengeance from the grave
Kills the people he once saved

Nobody wants him
They just turn their heads
Nobody helps him
Now he has his revenge

Heavy boots of lead
Fills his victims full of dread
Running as fast as they can

Iron man lives again!

Ozzy Osbourne - In My Life

John Michael "Ozzy" Osbourne (born 3 December 1948) is an English rock vocalist, songwriter, and television personality. Osbourne rose to prominence in the early 1970s as the lead vocalist of the pioneering band Black Sabbath, whose dark and heavy sound has often been cited as key to the development of the heavy metal genre.
Osbourne left Black Sabbath in 1979 and has since had a successful solo career, releasing 11 studio albums, the first seven of which were all awarded multi-platinum certifications in the US, though he has reunited with Black Sabbath on several occasions, most recently in 2011 to record the album 13, which was released in 2013.
Osbourne's longevity and success have earned him the informal title of "Godfather of Heavy Metal".
Osbourne's total album sales from his years in Black Sabbath combined with his solo work is over 100 million.
As a member of Black Sabbath he was inducted into the US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and was inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame as both a solo artist and as a member of the band. He has a star on the Birmingham Walk of Stars in his hometown, and also has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
In the early 2000s, he became a TV star, appearing as himself in the MTV reality program The Osbournes, alongside wife/manager Sharon and two of their three children, Kelly and Jack.
In My Life is a Beatles cover.
The lyrics:
There are places I remember
All my life though some have changed
Some forever not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places have their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life I've loved them all

But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more

Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more

In my life I love you more

Ozzy Osbourne - Mama, I'm Coming Home

Mama, I'm Coming Home is the third song on the 1991 Ozzy Osbourne heavy metal album No More Tears. The song is about his wife and manager, Sharon Osbourne, whom he nicknames "Mama", and his return to her following his imminent retirement. The song was co-written by Zakk Wylde, Osborne's longtime guitarist, frontman and lead guitarist for heavy metal group Black Label Society, and Lemmy Kilmister, frontman of the heavy metal group Motörhead. Lemmy was brought in as a songwriter for the No More Tears album, providing lyrics for the tracks "Mama I'm Coming Home", "Hellraiser" (which Motörhead also later recorded), "Desire", and "I Don't Want to Change the World."
The single is Osbourne's only solo Top 40 single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, peaking at number 28; his only other top 40 hit was his duet with Lita Ford, "Close My Eyes Forever" which peaked at number 8. It also reached number 2 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks.
Music videos
Two music videos were created for the single. The first was a surreal video that Osbourne didn't like because he felt the video didn't match the song. He then created a second music video with Samuel Bayer, which was more to his liking. Osbourne compared the effects in the second video to the hazy smoke effect seen in the video for Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit", which was also directed by Bayer.
The lyrics:
Times have changed and times are strange
Here I come, but I ain't the same
Mama, I'm coming home
Times gone by seem to be
You could have been a better friend to me
Mama, I'm coming home

You took me in and you drove me out
Yeah, you had me hypnotized, Yeah
Lost and found and turned around
By the fire in your eyes

You made me cry, you told me lies
But I can't stand to say goodbye
Mama, I'm coming home
I could be right, I could be wrong
Hurts so bad, it's been so long
Mama, I'm coming home

Selfish love yeah we're both alone
The ride before the fall
But I'm gonna take this heart of stone
I just got to have it all

I've seen your face a hundred times
Everyday we've been apart
I don't care about the sunshine, yeah
'Cause Mama, Mama, I'm coming home
I'm coming home

(Solo)

You took me in and you drove me out
Yeah, you had me hypnotized
Lost and found and turned around
By the fire in your eyes

I've seen your face a thousand times
Everyday we've been apart
I don't care about the sunshine, yeah
'Cause Mama, Mama, I'm coming home
I'm coming home
I'm coming home
I'm coming home
